Summer Fling

I've been pretty good resisting the seasonal teas that have been released this summer. But my love for all things watermelon compelled me to purchase Monarch Tea Co.'s "Summer Fling" oolong tea.

This watermelon-infused oolong tea has a strong fruity scent.
Ingredients: oolong, papaya, plum, safflower petals, natural organic flavours (watermelon?).

A 3-minute steep produced a very light coloured tea.
The oolong was light and had a refreshing, watermelon flavour. The packaging says "Best enjoyed over ice" so next time, I'll try it as an iced tea.

I found this teacup at a church sale a couple of months ago.
The pretty, colourful flowers screamed "SUMMER!"

Are you drinking any summer teas?

I'm joining the following parties this week:

  1. Murchie's Victorian Garden is my new favourite tea. How many times can we seriously say 'new favourite'? lol
A sweet teacup, perfect for summer sipping. I've been seeing watermelon salads on FB and the latest was a watermelon rind pie through the pie group I belong to. ?lol

  4. I have melon every morning for breakfast so I'm sure I would enjoy your tea. Your teacup is very pretty, Margie! I haven't tried any new teas lately other than those friends have sent me. I haven't been in to David's Tea in months and perhaps it's time to take in a visit. My guys will be all be home soon and two of them enjoy tea so it's a good excuse to go in. Hope your summer is going well.

  5. Does iced tea from Lipton tea bags then mixed with lemonade count?

  7. Your summertime teacup is so pretty, Margie, and the tea looks delish! I've been drinking a Blackberry Sage tea (I'm more a berry girl than melon), by Republic of Tea, which is really good, and just plain, old iced tea, which is so refreshing.

  13. Hi sweet lady! Love your pretty china teacup - and that tea looks good - though I am not a fan of watermelon flavor - tho I do like the fruit.

I actually haven't been drinking much tea - trying hard to reduce caffeine more as I am not sleeping well at all.
Plus it's been very hot and humid - I know it won't last long and I have been drinking iced teas a bit here and there. SO sorry I have been so MIA these last few months, just couldn't be helped, I am afraid.

Thanks so much for your visit and sweet comments - you're such a dear heart. Hugs. ♥

  15. Margie, I rarely drink iced tea, but I've been enjoying one I just posted about today. The heat and humidity made me want to try an iced tea, though I'm still, of course, drinking my hot tea!

  16. That sounds lovely -- I will often brew a pot in the morning and then drink it iced in the afternoon. I buy most of my tea from a local tea shop although sadly they closed their store and are now just online BUT they have such good teas. (Sereneteaz.com) - No compensation for that but they ARE the best in price and quality I think! That teacup is beautiful - I'm using an ugly mug right now because I work from home and keep it sitting on a 'warmer' so I don't want to use my pretty cups!
