Ladurée Boutique and Tea Salon

Back in September, I visited the Ladurée Bouique and Tea Salon in Yorkdale Mall for the first time!

This Parisian-style tea room opened its first Toronto located in 2017.

Ladurée is world renowned for its French macarons. At the the tea salon, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, desserts, and of course, the Ladurée Afternoon Tea Experience!

Seating is limited so reservations are a must!
(We went on a weekday morning when it wasn't busy yet.)

I ordered the Mélange Ladurée Special--a delicious sweet fruity black tea.

We didn't have time for the Afternoon Tea Experience, so we enjoyed the macarons (Chocolate Earl Grey, Maple, and Marie Antoinette) with our tea.

Ladurée also has a Tea Salon in Vancouver and will be opening its second Toronto location in the downtown Financial District.

The Peddlar in Paris

Back in August, I visited The Peddlar tea and gift shop in Paris, Ontario.

The shop offered a wide selection of teas and teawares.

The wall of loose leaf teas!

Packaged teas and whimsical tea accessories were also available.

I managed to restrain myself to purchasing only 3 teas.

This is the Paris tea blend. It smelled sooo good!

This delicious tea blend was like a Cream Earl Grey with a hint of fruity flavours.

Chayo Tea's Boba

On Labour Day weekend, I visited Chayo Tea
"Chayo" (Madarin) translates to "Friend" in English.

I've seen Chayo Tea's booths at tea festivals, but this is the first time I've visited their new shop in downtown Burlington.

Inside the tea shop.

I was in the mood for a cold beverage so I ordered the peach bubble tea. Very refreshing!

Last weekend, I tried Donut Monster's Peach Earl Grey fritter. YUM!
I love trying out desserts that feature one of my favourite tea blends!

Citizen Tea

Most tea companies sell their teas online so I was excited to hear a new tea shop opened up at Mapleview Centre in Burlington.

Citizen Tea took over the space previously occupied by Teavana.

Teas, teas, teas!
(Not pictured: the wall where you can order loose teas by weight)

As part of their Grand Opening promotion, all loose teas were 30% off. I did not stand firm on my "no new teas until you use up your existing stash" policy...so 3 teas came home with me!

This sweet tea is perfect for sipping in the fall!

The Naked Leaf Tea Shop

When I was in Calgary last month, I visited The Naked Leaf Tea Shop in the Kensington area.

You can shop for teas and teawares at the store or online.

I liked how the tea samples were mounted on a magnetic bar.
The shelves contain tea tins with labels designed by local artists.

After much deliberation, I purchased the Pineapple Sencha Green tea.

The light, tropical flavoured tea is perfect for the summer months!

The teapot and teacup were "rescued" from different church sales. I was drawn to the colourful flowers.

Do you drink any exotic flavoured teas?

A Visit to T by Daniel's New Store

I first encountered T by Daniel at the 2015 Toronto Tea Festival. The energetic and stylish co-founder, Daniel, had one of the busiest booths at the festival.

The little tea shop from Brampton, Ontario recently relocated to the Bramalea City Centre Mall. A few weeks ago, I visited the new store. It was quite busy so I only captured a few images.

The Flavour Station

Daniel is known for serving tea in a stylish bowtie.

My free cup of delicious ginger peach snowcone white tea.
The cute name, "Magical Smile Margie", was a nice touch!

In 2017, the co-founders, Daniel and his wife Renata, had the great honour of serving tea to Prince Charles during his Canada 150 Royal Tour. The special edition royal blend, "Polo with the Prince", was created to celebrate this historic occasion for T by Daniel.

"Polo with the Prince" was a tasty blend of black tea, strawberries and lemon.

I also got the new royal blend, When Harry Met Megan, which I'll feature in a May post!

Tea at the White House's New Location

Last week, I had plans to meet a friend for afternoon tea at Tea at the White House. Unfortunately, my friend got sick...but rather than cancelling our reservation, I opted to go on my own instead!

Tea at the White House opened their beautiful tea shop at their new location (35 Main St North, Waterdown, Ontario) in September. The tea room opened in late October. Reservations are a must!

The great wall of 170+ teas.

Because I love all things banana, I tried out the Darjeeling Select Reserve tea which "offers flavors of flowers, freshly sprouting buds, pomello and even green banana." (Source: Tea at the White House). I couldn't detect the banana, but I did enjoy this light, floral tea.

My delicious cream tea was quite filling!

How are adorable are these vintage-style teapot and teacups necklace and earrings?

I'm so glad that Tea at the White House has found a permanent location so that I can enjoy their wonderful food, teas and service again!

Tea at the White House was recently featured in the local morning news. Click here to watch the 15-minute video which includes: discussion of afternoon tea vs. high tea, tea blending, scone baking, and a tea and chocolate pairing.

Wonderland

Last month, I visited the new location of the Mad Hatter Tea Co. The proprietor had a degree in interior design so the shop was beautifully decorated!

Whimsical decor met me at the door.

I love the huge mural of Alice and the Queen of Hearts!

Isn't this floral light fixture gorgeous?

"M" is for Mad Hatter.

The menu and teawares for sale.

The Wonder Blend Wall

Choose Me!

Patrons are encouraged to create art on the chalkboard tables.
I had a sample of the Mad House Rosé: an oolong tea blended with strawberry, coconut and pineapple. This tea was too tart for me though so I purchased different samples instead.

The samples came in these cute little tins.

"Cherry Bomb" was a fruity tea made of rooibos tea, cherries and coconut flakes.

 "We're all mad here."

The Heart Wants What It Wants

Tea at the White House in Waterdown was one of the first tea rooms where I enjoyed afternoon tea.

This quaint tea room offered both indoor and outdoor seating.

Unfortunately, the sale of the "white house" a few years ago forced the tea room operators to shut down their popular tea room. While the owners searched for a new venue for their tea room, they continued selling their teas through their online store and holiday pop-up shops.

During last weekend's snowstorm, I visited the Tea at the White House Valentine Pop-up Shop.  I fell off my tea wagon (47 days without new tea purchases!) and brought home a tin of Chocolate Raspberry Rendezvous black tea...

...as well as these yummy heart-shaped scones.
I've always loved the scones served at Tea at the White House.

We celebrated Valetine's Day at the office with the first tea social of 2017.
We sipped the tasty chocolate raspberry rendezvous black tea from my heart cups and saucers.

Some of the savories and sweets brought in by my co-workers.
Not pictured: veggies, cinnamon bread, strudel.

This Black Tea Rose candle by Bath and Body Works was a Valentine gift from my mom.

I was stalking this small pink with red heart teapot on Indigo's online store for weeks.
The teapot FINALLY went on sale (50% off!!!) so I rushed to the store over the weekend and used my gift card and Plum rewards special bonus to make it mine.

You got me sippin' on something...
