Three Aynsley vintage teacups

A couple of months ago, I found 3 gorgeous Aysnley teacups at a church rummage sale.

I love the teacups' elegant sage green colour and gold filigree design which blend together beautifully!

Garage Sale Haul

Last weekend, I went to 3 church garage sales in search of tea treasures.

The gorgeous Royal Stafford pink teacup caught my eye as soon as I walked into the room. It was only $2!

I also purchased this pretty Aynsley teacup decorated with pink roses for $2.

I couldn't resist this charming teacup ornament which was also $2! It came with the stand, so I can display it all year!

A green and gold Aynsley teacup

In honour of St. Patrick's Day, I'm sharing this elegant green and gold teacup that I acquired a few years ago.

This is the third crocus teacup in my collection.
One is lighter green, while the other is pure white.

The Aynsley backstamp. My internet search of the gold marks (2797?) didn't find anything though.

A friend sent me this sweet card last week. It brought me joy during these dark days.

Stay safe and healthy!

Going green for St. Patrick's Day

There's still some snow and ice outside, but some greens are popping up inside!

This green corset shape teacup was made by Aynsley (circa 1939).

I celebrated St. Patrick's Day by drinking jasmine green tea by Wuyutai Tea, a famous tea house in China. My colleague had received this tea as a gift but the floral taste wasn't to her liking...so she passed it on to me!

How did you celebrate St. Paddy's Day?

Canada 150

This year, Canada is celebrating its 150th birthday.

Of course, my Canada 150 celebrations involved red and white-themed tea times!

Another blogging friend sent me this delicious "Canada 150 Blend" by Murchie's:
"A mosaic of black, green and oolong teas, blended with a hint of maple to celebrate our nation’s history and diversity." (From: Murchie's)

Some of you may have seen this Canadian Tire commercial already.
Click on the image to watch the 30-second commercial.

I was proud to see the Valley's charming downtown featured in the commercial.

Happy 150 Canada!

A Return to the Old Curiosity Tea Shop

Last Saturday, I returned to The Old Curiosity Tea Shop to meet again with Judith from Lavender Cottage and Wendy from September Violets over afternoon tea.

The Victorian afternoon tea and service were just as wonderful as my first visit.

The Royal Bengal Tiger Tea was a smooth black tea with a mild taste of cinnamon and fruits that was perfect for the autumn season. I totally wanted to take this gorgeous Aynsley teacup home with me!

Judith and I wore our finest fascinators. The conversation flowed easily like the tea we enjoyed. The three of us are part of a small group of Canadian bloggers who exchange "happy mail" throughout the year. We hope that the other members can join the next group outing.

Thank you, Judith and Wendy, for the laughs and fun times!

This week's pumpkin treat of the week: Pumpkin spiced cold chocolate. So rich and creamy!

Enjoy the last week of October!

It's Not Easy Being Green

I acquired my one and only green teacup a few years ago at a church garage sale (one of my favourite places to hunt for teawares). The teacup did not have a matching saucer so it was offered to me for only 10 cents! Sold!

The teacup has a crocus shape and an angular handle.

I love the gold filigree on the outside and the purple violets inside of the cup.

This Aynsley backstamp was established after 1960.

Time to visit the other tea parties!
