Church Garage Sale Haul #2: More Teacups!

The second church garage sale I went to last month was selling teacups and saucers for only 25 cents each! I was tempted to buy ALL the teacups, but I restrained myself and only brought 4 teacups home with me.

Teacup #1 is by Hammersley and decorated with dainty rosebuds. It's smaller than the average teacup.

Teacup #2 is also made in England, but doesn't have the pottery's stamp.

Teacup #3 is by Queen Anne and is perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

Teacup #4 is a mismatched violets set of a Colcough teacup and a Royal Albert saucer.

When I arrived home, I discovered that I had a Colcough saucer with violets! The teacup is older than the saucer, but I think they make the perfect match!

2017 Spring Teacup Exchange

In the spring, a teacup lover's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of The Enchanting Rose's Teacup Exchange.

A massive THANK YOU goes out to our wonderful hostess, Stephanie, for all the time and effort that she spent organizing the 10th exchange which has expanded to over 200 participants from around the world!

I was paired up with Jacqueline from New York.
Since Jacqueline doesn't have a blog, I'm sharing what I sent her here.

Jacqueline is interested in the Victorian era so I sent her a Victorian-themed package.
I received the vintage-style kitchen linens on my last birthday and managed to find the same ones to give to Jacqueline.

I sent Jacqueline a teacup from my own collection.
After much contemplation, I selected this teacup decorated with yellow roses. During the Victorian era, flowers were used to relay secret messages. Back in the Victorian times, yellow roses stood for jealousy. Today, yellow roses symbolize friendship.

"I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." (From Casablanca).

The lovely thank you card from Jacqueline.

I was beyond thrilled to receive this wonderful package from Barbara in Texas.
I was humbled and touched by Barbara's thoughtfulness and generosity. She even handcrafted items that were tailored to my obsession interests (TEA!) and favourite colours (purple, yellow, and turquoise).

Tasty goodies to accompany my cups of tea.

Vintage napkins embroidered by Barbara.
How sweet are the tea-themed designs?

Barbara confessed that she had difficulty parting with this pretty Hammersley teacup decorated with sweet peas (we've all been there, right?!?). Lucky for me, she overcame her internal struggle and sent this beauty my way!

Thank you for the gorgeous teacup and wonderful goodies, Barbara!

2016 Fall Teacup Exchange

The Enchanting Rose's biannual teacup exchanges are always rewarding experiences. A huge THANK YOU goes out to our amazing hostess, Stephanie, for working so hard to ensure that the 9th teacup and mug exchange ran smoothly for the 192 participants.

I sent this Queen Anne teacup from my collection to Tammy in Wisconsin.
Tammy doesn't have a blog so I'm sharing what I sent her here.

I rescued "Little Orphan Annie" a few years ago and thought that Tammy would give her a good home. I was glad that she didn't mind that it was a mismatched cup and saucer!

I was thrilled to receive this Hammersley beauty from Patti in Illinois.
I love the teacup's yellow trim, scalloped edges and dainty floral design!

Patti thoughtfully included these yummy teas and wafer rolls in my package. How cute is this tea towel?

I also received this pretty lustreware dish in my favourite colours, as well as stickers and a bookmark.

Thank you, Patti, for the wonderful package!
