Outdoor Summer Tea Social

For the first time ever, our office tea social was held outside! The days leading up to the tea social were hot and rainy. I was fretting over the 40% chance of a thundershower...

...but we were blessed with blue skies, cooler temperatures and a nice breeze. We couldn't have asked for better weather! We had some Canada geese for company. Can you spot them?

I cheated and brought in bottled iced tea for our "bring your own cup" tea. I couldn't resist bringing in these mason jar mugs. We had all types of teas covered:
-Lemon black tea by Pure Leaf
-Green tea with ginseng and honey by Arizona Tea
-Blackberry herbal tea from my co-worker (not pictured)
-
We had a well-balanced meal of: cheese and crackers, samosas, green salad and potato salad (not pictured).

For dessert, we had hazelnut wafer cookies and peaches.

It was one of the best tea socials at work!

I'm joining Tea in the Garden this week.

  1. How wonderful to have your tea social outside, Margie! Being under blue skies enhances the spirit. Yes, I did spot the geese! Thank you for sharing this fun way of enjoying time at work with tea and food.

  2. What a wonderful tea social when you can enjoy it outside! There is just something about the scent of summer and a cuppa tea together. It's invigorating! Nice to see the geese in the background too. We had a really bad rain, wind, and hail storm last week which downed some trees and did a bit of damage around the Island. We didn't have any damage ourselves, thank goodness, but it's one of the worst rain storms we've had in a very long time. Nice that we don't have those very often.

  3. An outside tea social sounds like a lovely summery thing to do. Did the geese come closer for a gander at your goodies? We've had no rain to speak of here for a long while and we'd welcome some.
    Have a wonderful week!

  5. What a lovely idea to share with your co-workers and those mason jar mugs are perfect.
That BlackBerry herbal tea sounds delicious.
I use to buy and bring back to the States your Black currant tetly tea, but can no longer find it. When I would serve it my guests were always delighted, even those who didn't like flavored tea.
We have a pair if Canadian geese that come every year and best on our pond. With anticipation Donatella and I walk to the pond looking for their arrival.
There's nothing like the sound of them honking as they fly over, awesome!
    Have a beautiful day, Margie~
