Hello, April!

So this is what spring looks like in the Valley...

Photo taken on March 31 2019
...and why I wait until late April/early May to put away my winter attire.

I went to a book sale last weekend and purchased a copy of "Anne of Green Gables". The 1985 TV mini-series starring Megan Follows will always be my favourite big screen adaptation.

As the temperatures sloooowly warm up, I've started drinking more cold beverages. This is a cream-base frappuccino version of the black sesame tea latte. Very tasty!

How's spring looking in your corner of the world?

  1. We had some nice Spring weather over the weekend. It was beautiful yesterday and raining today. It is a warm rain however and is taking away what is left of the white stuff.
The 1995 TV series with Megan Follows was and is the best! I don't watch these newer adaptations because they stray too far from the book and one in particular is quite vulgar. Anne of the late 1800s never would have acted or talked the way these newer Annes do. It annoys me a great deal how they have taken a sweet innocent story and ruined it. My son and his family were watching the new Anne with An E on CBC and they stopped because of the garbage that was added to the story. It is shameful! Sorry, I guess I took off on that subject a bit! Ha!
Your frappuccino looks delicious! Yum! Happy April, Margie!

  2. I agree with you and Sandi, the Megan Follows version is the standard! Love it. We had 62 F weather here on Thursday and then Saturday night I had to scrape snow off my car before I left a friend's house!! Still drinking warm beverages here, although that frappuccino looks delish! xo

  3. i laughed at your picture of what Spring looks like in the Valley! I've never seen the 1985 version of Anne of Green Gables, but I did see the newer one, Anne with an E, but stopped watching it. I hope you get to enjoy more cold beverages, Margie. The one in your photo looks so tasty!

  4. Hi Margie
The weather has started to be nice the last two weeks on the west coast but rain is predicted by Wednesday. I do hope your weather improves too. Such a sweet tea pic over the snow. Thank you for visiting me.

  6. YUM on the Star Bucks treat! Wish I had one too. The weather here is crazy Margie. One day it's almost 80. Next day it's low's 60's. One day it's raining and wind is blowing. It's been crazy lately it seems. I am ready for some flip flop beach weather! Sunday after dinner it was actually a nice day and the family all sat outside together and enjoyed every moment. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  7. Spring is looking pretty good here - today we hit 18! It's very dry, however, and we're looking forward to some rain in the next few days.
I love the 1985 Anne version, too. Such a sweet production.

  8. OH MY. That is very sad. But I love your way of coping! I adore the Anne of Green Gables t.v. series and whenever it's on I watch it. I SHOULD just ask for it for a gift one year! I finally felt it was safe to put the snow shovels away. We will be flirting with the low 70's for the first time since last summer so I'm pretty excited. I put my winter coats and boots away in mid-March and no matter how cold it gets, refuse to wear them haha! Hopefully warmer days are headed your way!

  9. Yes, Megan Follows is THE Anne of Green Gables. And these people who want to make entirely different stories should not be allowed to take LMM's characters and use them in stories she would never have written; they should just come up with their own characters.
