A cup full of irony

Last month, one of the church ladies who volunteered at the local charity thrift store told me that she saw a really unique teacup that reminded her of me. So she snagged the teacup and gave it to me!

 

I waited until I got home to open her gift and couldn't believe it when I saw the teacup: it was one of the teacups that I had donated back in June! I was trying to downsize my collection and decided to rehome some teacups. HA!

 

 

When my church friend asked me about the teacup a few weeks later, I could not tell a lie (inside the church) and told her the truth. She had no idea about the past donation and apologized, but I was so touched by her thoughtfulness and believed it was a sign that the teacup was meant to come home to me!

 

Now every time I see this teacup, I think of the church lady and its delightful homecoming story!
