Sadler & Green Gables

Like many of you, I'm trying to restrict the acquisition of teawares. But I just couldn't resist this beauty when I spotted it at the local thrift store this past weekend.

Sadler is one of my favourite English teapot makers.
This gorgeous teapot was in excellent condition and only cost me $6!

I love the bright colours and bird design.

I also rescued this orphaned teacup featuring Green Gables--the home of our favourite spunky dreamer, Anne Shirley. Visiting Green Gables is definitely on my bucket list!

This Anne of Green Gables teacup was part of Regency's Heritage Collection.

The thrift store was having a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" promotion for housewares so this cute teabag holder was free!

Have you found any treasures this summer?

  1. I'm glad you couldn't resist the pretty, colorful Sadler teapot, Margie, and what a bargain it was! Your orphaned Green Gables teacup will be happy in your home, too. Thanks for sharing your lovely bargains.

  2. The Sadler is a beauty indeed Margie, one brand I haven't acquired yet. I'm staying away from the antique barns as I know I'll be wanting something too. :-)
We visited PEI and Green Gables a few years ago when we went to the island for a wedding, it's a dreamy vacation out east.
The teabag holder is a generous size, good bargain hunting!

  5. Margie, I love Sadler teapots and you found a beauty for a great price. Wasn't that a treat! Your GG teacup is cute too. I hope you get to visit Green Gables one day. It truly is a splendid place. I am hoping to visit this summer when my DIL comes home. It has been a few years since I was last there. Thanks for sharing and enjoy this new week.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  9. Oh, you did find treasures! The teapot is gorgeous and the Anne of Green Gables teacup needed someone who would appreciate it. (It's on my bucket list to visit, too!) I have not been able to visit thrift shops recently, I hope I will find some treasures soon, too.

  10. I know the feeling, it's almost impossible to pass such treasures up. Some how I find a way to fit it in the collection. For me it's not really a collection as much as it is more a lifestyle. Great finds.

  11. I never find treasures like that in my favorite thrift store. I was in an antique mall yesterday, and I spied a teapot I loved. Unfortunately, it was $69...very much out of my budget. Wish I could find pretty things in the thrift store, since it's much less expensive.

Anyhow, your finds are lovely. Lucky you!

    Blessings,
