February Holiday Tea Times

My colleagues and I couldn't let Valentine week pass without having another tea social.

Red Rose's sweet strawberry cheesecake herbal tea was served in dainty teacups.

The savories and sweets brought in by my colleagues.

When a co-worker gifted my mom with some "good teas from China", she naturally passed it on to her tea-loving daughter! Since the package labels were all in Chinese, I couldn't read what type of black tea it was.

I thought that the Lunar New Year was the perfect time to brew some of this mystery tea in my Asian-style tea-for-one set. This handless teacup has a generous capacity (similar to a mug). The black tea smelled and tasted malty.

Did you celebrate these February holidays?

I'm joining the following parties this week:

  1. You know how I love reading about your tea socials at work, Margie! They always make me smile as you and your co-workers enjoy a genteel time at the work place. The strawberry and cream tea sounds perfect for a Valentine tea.
My group of water aerobics friends had a Valentine/Birthday luncheon, and I was the only February birthday! It was a fun time.

  2. You guys really know how to party! What a lovely spread of treats you had! Love the Chinese tea set. We stayed home and I cooked a fancy dinner for my husband. I just took down my Valentine decorations so getting ready to put up the Easter. Since Easter is so early this year, I'll skip my St. Pat's decorations.

  3. Man, I certainly think you work at a cool place! You guys have the best socials!Lol! Love the teapot too! My friend just had her husband back from an Asian business trip with a Chinese Tea presentation box from his host, but can’t read the labels either! Bet you enjoyed it though. Have a tea filled week and thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea.

  4. 'Morning Margie! What a wonderful array of treats for your tea social. I think you gals really know how to enjoy yourselves and a tea is always perfect. Your red tea-for-one is very attractive but then I am very partial to red it seems. I have a niece who is half Chinese and she always celebrates anything Chinese that comes along. She and her boyfriend are learning Mandarin. I too heard about a Downton Abbey movie in the works. I hope it's true! Enjoy your day, my friend.

  6. I need to get some new friends, most of my friends think it's kind of silly to have a tea party at our age. Thank goodness my hubby will have afternoon tea with me. The food looks delicious and the tea I know I would enjoy.

  8. You have a teapot suitable for every occasion! Lovely red. We celebrate Valentine's Day and sometimes bring in Chinese food for that new year. We missed it this year, though.

  14. It sounds like great times with your colleagues. The Red Rose tea sounds delicious, I may have to try that. We don't celebrate Valentines at work but we usually do something for each person's birthday which is always nice.
