Royal Albert Teacup: John Peel

2020 is a leap year so I'm sharing a teacup that features an equestrian jumping over a fence (?).

This was passed on to me by someone who was downsizing. I had just started collecting teacups so I was more than happy to give this beauty a new home.

The teacup is part of the Royal Albert Traditional British Songs Series (circa 1950s). John Peel was a famous English huntsman.

What are you doing on Leap Day?

  2. What a unique teacup! For leap day we are joining friends for dinner. I'm bringing the dessert - probably chocolate mousse, and you've just given me the idea to serve it in teacups! Have a great week, Margie.

  3. I laughed at your connection of the horse leaping and Leap Day, Margie! Your teacup is a pretty one, and gifted ones are special as we remember those who gave them to us.
I don’t have any exciting plans for the 29th.

  4. I remember learning a song about John Peel in school, way back when, an old hunting song. Feb 29 - Just another day in the life of a retired person, but an extra one.
