Hats Off to Tea!

This past weekend, I had some relatives over for a casual tea party.

The guests were encouraged to don their finest hats!

 My safari-style hat.

My mom's red hat which I fancied up with a purple flower pin.

We enjoyed two delicious tropical green teas served hot: Twinings' Mango & Lychee and The Naked Leaf's Coconut Blast.

I also cold-brewed overnight Davids Tea's Melon Drop Tea. This herbal infusion of apple, honeydew melon, papaya, watermelon, kiwi is one of my favourite summer teas and makes a refreshing light iced tea.

I forgot to photograph the sandwiches and desserts (blogging fail!).

My tea wagon was inspired by Alice Through the Looking Glass.

  1. What a fun tea party, Margie! I'd be wanting to sample all of those delicious sounding teas. Your tea wagon looks so spiffy in all it's Alice-inspired decor. I especially love the cloche, with stacked teacups. I've been wanting one about that size, but haven't bought one yet.

  2. A whimsical tea theme Margie and your table and tea cart look lovely. I do miss seeing the food, haha, I often forget to photograph it too until too late. I like that you wore fancy hats for this tea!

  6. Your teas sound delicious, Margie, and what fun to wear hats! I am going to have to have a tea party with hats one of these days because I really do love them. I see a teapot that is the perfect companion to a teacup and plate I have. I wonder is it a Skye McGhie Garden Whispers? I LOVE it! Your tea wagon is really whimsical and fun. I enjoyed your post and thanks for sharing it with us. Have a lovely day, my friend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  10. What a nice treat for your friends. And I love your tea cart; such fun decor. I was just at Sephora today and saw an amazing eyeshadow collection inspired by Alice. A little too colorful for me, but fun!
Well, I am on a quest to break out of my black tea only routine; those teas sound good. Hope you're having a good week Margie. xo

  13. Margie, given my 'druthers, I'd go for a black tea. But that mango-lychee green tea sounds lovely. Your table looks gorgeous, and it always makes me so happy when anyone anywhere gives a tea party!

  14. Hi Margie! Your summer tea sounds yummy! Love the tea cart too :). And, sigh, such a blogging fail with not getting the food pictures! It's so easy to remember to do that when you are having a party (this is total sarcasm in case that isn't obvious. I'm usually taking pictures while my guests are waiting because I didn't do it ahead of time. Luckily, they now ask me if I have taken pictures yet for the blog).
