Many of the teacups in my collection were gifted by generous acquaintances and friends. Last summer, I was thrilled to receive a teacup that had been on my wish list for years...
Lavender Rose by Royal Albert!
This beauty was gifted to me by a work acquaintance who was downsizing her china collection.
The Royal Albert backstamp circa 1960s (Made in England).
Last month, I purchased this super cute dress tea towel from a local seamstress who custom made them in purple and pink.
Both are being used as hand towels in the bathrooms!
I was also delighted that my African violets have rebloomed (despite my lackadaisical green thumb). YEAH!!!
Now if I can just get my orchid to flower again...
I'm joining the following parties this week:
I love Lavender Rose, Margie, and I have quite a few pieces of it, thanks to my mom. I'm sure you know that I started the pattern for her when I got married and I never dreamed they would come back to me. Over the years, family and friends added to it so now I have enough pieces to set a nice dinner table. Your little towels are simply adorable! I am amazed at the cute things folks turn out on their sewing machines. They would be so cute in the bath room. Another fun post with lovely china. Thank you for sharing with us and have a wonderful new week, Margie.

What a pretty teacup your Lavender Rose is, Margie, and such a thoughtful gift! Your towel dresses are just adorable, and would be so pretty in your bathroom. Yea for your African Violet blooming! As far as orchids, I only ever had one re bloom. I guess they're temperamental. I enjoy them while they last!
ReplyDeleteThe tea cup is gorgeous but those tea towels are just darlings and so adorable. As for your question, Margie, our pool is screen enclosed and is on the back porch, which are very commom in FL because of the bugs outside...Christine
ReplyDeleteI have the Lavender Rose teapot Margie so we can have tea together. I've resisted buying a matching teacup as I have so many others to mix and match.
ReplyDeleteAfrican violets and I don't get along but they sure are pretty when they bloom. And, what plant wouldn't be happy in a big purple polka dot teacup!
It amazes me how many beautiful patterns Royal Albert produced. Your Lavender Rose teacup has such delicate features and will complement many other patterns. So glad your coworker gifted it to you.
ReplyDeleteThose towels are so adorable! Wish I could sew like that.
Congratulations on the African violet bloom! I have never had luck with them nor orchids. I enjoy them for their short bloom life. :)
Beautiful tea cup. I love the big one that you used as a planter. Have a great week. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteA lovely post, Margie. The tea cup is so so pretty and the violets are wonderful as well. But my favorites are the towels, so fun and unique.

Hi Margie,
ReplyDeleteRoyal Albert's Lavender Rose China pattern is beautiful. I found the teapot at Value Village for $40 using my 30 percent coupon. I want to collect more of it. What a wonderful gift from your friend. Love the little dress towels and your african violets look beautiful in that dear teacup planter. Happy Tea Time my friend. Have a Wonderful Week! Karen
Love teapots, they're are like my dolls. The big one with the plant is adorable! The dress towels are so cute too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit sweet friend.

Dear Margie:
ReplyDeleteYour violets are lovely. I am familiar with the cup and saucer too. Lovely. Someone sure created a cute tea towel! Thanks for sharing and linking.

ReplyDeleteLove this tea cup I have two of them my first teacups. The dresses are so cute. Happy weekend with love Janice
ReplyDeleteLovely things, Margie! I've never seen anyone do that with towels!
ReplyDeleteHi Margie!
ReplyDeleteBy chance, you wouldn't be a friend from California, would you, who belonged to the Victorian Tea Society back some 15-20 years ago now?? Probably not, but if it WERE you I would be happy to be out here blogging with her. Glad to make your acquaintance, Margie! It's nice meeting other tea drinkers in a world of coffee aficionados. :)
Love this post and all the lovely things you received on your birthday this past year.
Hope your birthday this July (written 7-28-17) was just as lovely!
Barb :)
