In late July, my friend and I took a day trip to Fergus, Ontario, a historic town located along the Grand River. Every August, Fergus celebrates its rich Scottish heritage with the 3-day Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games. We didn't make it to the festival, but I'm intrigued by the Tea Tent!
The primary purpose of our visit was to shop at this fine establishment:
The quaint tea shop also has a small eat-in area (behind the brown post), but I didn't photograph it because there were patrons sitting at the tables. At our next visit, we'll have to dine in!
Some of the cute tea-themed merchandise. I should have asked if the teapot lamp was on sale!
Most tea shops sell teas in specific weights, such as 50 grams, but Bentley House lets the customer pick how much tea to purchase which I really liked! I ended up purchasing different samples of black, green and white teas.
Because I love all things banana, I had to try the banana black tea.
It smelled sooo good and did taste banana-ish!
I added milk to enjoy a sweet and creamy banana tea!
What's the strangest tea flavour that you've tried?
I'm joining the following parties this week:
The banana tea sounds interesting. What a neat place to visit...Christine
ReplyDeleteOoh Margie, another fun tea outing you've shared with us! I'm sighing over that teapot lamp. Isn't it pretty? I'm glad that you're enjoying your banana flavored tea. I can't think of any unusual tea that I've drunk, except for the rose tea that I tried. I'd rather smell and look at roses, than drink them!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I don't think I would want a banana flavoured tea, certainly is unusual.
ReplyDeleteHow fun. I have never heard of banana tea!
ReplyDeleteHi Margie,
ReplyDeleteYou visit the neatest places. I am not sure if I would want banana tea. I am an orange pekoe kind of gal. My chocolate cake was from Pepperidge Farms in a box. Not homemade in this heat. Lol. Blessings Sweet Margie! Karen
Banana tea sounds intriguing, I must say. I would be game to try it for sure as I do like bananas. I don't think I would like licorice in my tea. I know some who like it and I LOVE black licorice, just not in my tea!
ReplyDeleteYou live in a great area obviously because you get to try all of these different tea rooms. That teapot lamp was really cute wasn't it? Once again, you have shared an interesting post, Margie. Thank you!
Blessings,
Sandi
I'm not sure about banana flavoured tea! Fergus, however I do know. Many years ago we bought our couch and love seat from a small furniture manufacturer there.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to go to those highland games when I lived out that way, but my family never did. Looks like a great tea shoppe! Banana flavoured tea sounds, um, unusual, but I'm glad you liked it.

A banana tea sounds like fun. I was recently persuaded to drink fennel tea. I can only say that I won't be drinking that again in a hurry :-)

You find the most interesting tea houses and shops to visit. I've had banana tea, enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't buy it again.
ReplyDeleteBanana tea wow... I have tried other teas but often find them to strong in flavor. But it does sound interesting.. Happy Wednesday/Thursday with love Janice
ReplyDeleteNow that's a tea I would never had imagined! So glad you were the Guinea pig! Looks like a wonderful tea room, and the Scottish festival would have been fun. They have one nearby in Victoria, BC...a ferry away...but we haven't made it yet. Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Margie, I've never been to Fergus, but I've visited Ontario several times. Lovely! That little shop looks like just the sort of place I enjoy visiting. This is the first I've ever heard of banana tea. Sounds interesting, but I rarely enjoy flavored teas other than Earl Grey.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely day going to this tea shop and I hope you can go back another time and enjoy Afternoon Tea there! Thanks for sharing this lovely designation.
ReplyDeleteHi Margie, you had quite a nice excursion! I do so love the teapot lamp. So cute! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLiked the lamp alot glad you enjoyed these lovely sights
ReplyDeleteLiked the lamp alot glad you enjoyed these lovely sights
ReplyDeleteI love the lamp as well! It is such a quaint place, clean, well organized and relaxing ambiance!
ReplyDeleteThe banana milk tea sounds more like a yummy dessert
ReplyDeleteYou seem to find the nicest tea shops! It does look like they have quite the selection! And banana tea sounds very interesting. I don't recall ever trying anything too adventurous in the realms of teas. Rose hip tea would probably be the most unusual.
