The Old Curiosity Tea Shop

Earlier this month, I visited The Old Curiosity Tea Shop, a Victorian tea room that has been on my bucket list for years!

The family-operated Old Curiosity Tea Shop has been part of the City of Markham for over 15 years.

The loose leaf teas on sale.

The quaint Victorian decor.

I love it when tea rooms use vintage bone china!

The scrumptious sandwiches from our Victorian Afternoon Tea.

The delectable desserts.

The sandwiches and desserts were accompanied by a pot of Victorian Markham Tea (an orange pekoe blend).

What made this afternoon tea experience extra special were the lovely ladies who met up with me: Judith of Lavender Cottage (right) and Sandra of Ravenhill Cottage (centre)!

Sandra was my first teacup swap partner and Judith was one of the first blogging friends that I made when I joined Blogland. We've kept in touch via blogging and snail mail, but nothing beats fun conversations in real life!

Thank you, Judith and Sandra, for the wonderful company!

I'm joining the following parties this week:

  11. Wow, so many wonderful things in this post! Love the name of the tea room you visited and the fact they sell loose teas. I also appreciate tea rooms that use vintage bone china. It's an added treat in my opinion. To make your afternoon tea even more special, you were able to share it with fellow bloggers. Tea has a way of bringing people together. I'm so glad all three of you were able to plan this outing.

  12. Hi Margie,
Is that you with sweet flower in her hair? Love it! Perfect for tea time. I would so enjoy visiting Ontario and going to some of your lovely tea houses. How special that you met Judith and Sandra. Wow! I have never met any blogging friends. I must admit Margie that I am not a golfer and to answer your question about my handicap... I am only a blogger and I leave the golf to my hubby and I stay at home and play with my pretties. Lol. Love your post today! Blessings, Karen
