Gratitude

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!

My family is not a fan of pumpkin pie so the only pumpkin pie that I had during the long weekend was this blizzard from Dairy Queen. My favourite part was the crunchy pie crust. YUM!

I also enjoyed some tasty pumpkin loaf (from Whole Foods) with a cup of jasmine green tea.

This 7-minute video, "An Experiment in Gratitude", by SoulPancake is a nice reminder to express appreciation to our loved one and shows that giving thanks can boost our own happiness!

Thank you for visiting my little corner of Blogland today!

  9. Your little pumpkin in a cup is so cute, Margie. The DQ treat looks good. I've never tried it. I would miss my pumpkin pie if I didn't have it because it's one of my favourites. Lately I've been making a crustless pumpkin pie which is delicious and there are less calories. :-) Have a fabulous week and we're all thankful for you, Margie!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  11. Margie, I didn't have a lot of time so almost put off watching the video. Then I said, it's only 7 minutes, go ahead. So glad I did -- it was very uplifting and made a great point!

  12. You know, even though I'm in the U.S., maybe I should start celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving as well... Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! That pumpkin pie blizzard sounds interesting...I'd never heard of a blizzard with pie crust. I just had some pumpkin pie at a friend's house last week. It was good! My family used to make a lot of pumpkin pies, but then we grew sweet potatoes. Sweet potato pies taste very similar to pumpkin pies, and we ate one pie after another of those. I think everybody got a bit tired of them. But it seems we're starting to get back to eating pumpkin pie in moderation again. :D

  14. I'm far behind in blogging. Happy Belated Thanksgiving!! I'm sorry that you weren't eating pumpkin pie ... something my family treasures right up there with the turkey and stuffing.

Loved the video, but why did an experiment in happiness make me cry? Maybe I need to write a paragraph to the person that influenced me most in my life ;)
