The Women are Persons! Monument in Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario (photo taken in 2015) |
So pour yourself a cup of tea...
...and listen to the conversation that lead to the historic ruling on Oct 18 1929:
"Women are Persons!"
I'm joining the following parties this week:
This is such an important moment in Canadian History. I'm glad there are monuments somewhere to help us remember. I'm raising my mug of morning tea to those strong and visionary women!
ReplyDeleteI'll raise my teacup, along with Lorrie, in honor of those wonderful women of history, Margie! I do love that pink teapot of yours and the pretty teacup.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this, Marge. Love the statues and the message they portray. Your tea cup and pot are really pretty.... Christine
ReplyDeleteIn honour of those ladies, I too raise my pink teacup. That is a pretty teacup and teapot, Margie. Pink is always right! Not only is it soft and feminine but it represents strength and courage as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely... with love Janice
ReplyDeleteIt 1:47 A.M. here but I have been moved to pull out a pink teacup and give thanks to the strong women before my time to let the world know we woman are far more than a cook and cleaner. Here's to all women. Bless us all. Margie a real eye opener considering our generation didn't have to fight so hard to be seen as persons and not just women.
ReplyDeleteLovely post.Your teacup and teapot are very beautiful and romantic!Love them!Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I had forgotten about that. Heading to find a pink teacup....thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea.
