A Lavender Tea Time

Over the last few years, I've acquired a taste for lavender teas.

Breakfast Cups

Last fall, I found a pair of Roy Kirkham fine bone china breakfast cups at HomeSense (aka HomeGoods). Of course, these beauties came home with me!

A standard teacup size is approximately 200 ml, while these breakfast cups were 450 ml!

Celebrating Canada Day with a maple tea

Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends!

It's always nice when Canada Day falls on a Monday so that we get a long weekend!

During the Canada Day long weekend, I enjoyed Manoomin Maple, a black tea that DavidsTea developed in partnership with Tea Horse, an Indigenous tea company. Ten percent of the proceeds will support Indigenous communities.

"Manoomin" means wild rice in Ojibwe. The tea ingredients are: roasted wild rice, black tea, maple sugar, cranberry, blueberry, coconut, natural vanilla flavouring.

Manoomin maple is a smooth and sweet tea. It would also make a tasty latte!

What I have already restocked:
1) DavidsTea's Honeydew Boba oolong
2) DavidsTea's Tropicalia fruit infusion

What I may repurchase in the future:

Flashback Travel: Machu Picchu, Peru

This week, I'm sharing a teapot that I got on my 2011 Peru trip.

How cute are these llamas? I think the teapot is made of red clay.

A close encounter with a real llama (or this an alpalca?)!

Coca tea is a herbal tea that people drink in Peru to help with the altitude sickness. I tried it, but honestly can't remember what it tasted like, or if it actually helped prevent altitude sickness!

Celebrating my 500th post!

I can't believe that this is the 500th post on my blog!

I started my tea blog as a hobby and it ended up enriching my life in ways that I couldn't have imagined! I couldn't be more grateful for all the wonderful connections that I've made in the tea blogging community.

Thank you for your incredible support over the last 9 years! I always appreciate your visits and comments!

Tea-themed gifts from BBW

Last month I received some tea-lightful gifts from the Bath and Body Works x Bridgerton collection.

I had been eyeing this beautiful teacup fragrance plug, so I was thrilled when my godson gifted it to me!

My mom gave me this super cute teapot PocketBac holder. I think it would also look great on my tea-themed Christmas tree!

The Sweet Tea & Lemonade foaming hand soap is part of BBW's summer collection. It smells exactly liked iced tea!

Three 6 Tea

I've been following Three 6 Tea, a Winnipeg-based tea company, for months. I took advantage of a recent sale to finally try out their teas!

Tea #1: Peach Apricot honeybush was a lovely fruity blend.

Tea #2: Lavender Vanilla matcha (hot) was creamy with a light note of lavender.

Tea #3: Bananaberry matcha milkshake is a delicious blend of banana and strawberry.

Tea #4: Strawberry Spritzer (cold brewed) was a refreshing fruit infusion!

Tea #5: Juicy Watermelon is perfect for summer sipping!

All the teas were delicious as cold brewed teas! I'll definitely be stocking up on the Lavender Vanilla and Bananaberry matchas!

Garage Sale Haul

Last weekend, I went to 3 church garage sales in search of tea treasures.

The gorgeous Royal Stafford pink teacup caught my eye as soon as I walked into the room. It was only $2!

I also purchased this pretty Aynsley teacup decorated with pink roses for $2.

I couldn't resist this charming teacup ornament which was also $2! It came with the stand, so I can display it all year!

Hamilton Potters Guild Spring Sale 2024

A few weeks ago, I went to the Hamilton Potters Guild spring sale to admire the functional artwork by over 90 potters!

These bright and colourful pottery were the epitome of spring!

The whimsical planters made me smile.

Mugs

I've always been a fan of Greg Voisin (top) and Alisa Greve's (bottom) beautiful mugs.

Teapots!

Mugs

More mugs

Jaclyn Ryan is another one of my favourite potters.

These yarn bowls are hilarious.

I brought home these 2 Jaclyn Ryan mugs because they matched the aesthetic of The Tortured Poets Department.

I also couldn't resist getting this jumbo Tea Time mug by Greg Voisin.

The jumbo mug is approximately twice the size of the standard mug and can hold over 1 litre of tea!

1st Annual Milton Tea Fest

At the beginning of the month, I attended the 1st Annual Tea Fest held in Milton.

There were over 30 vendors offering tea samples and other goodies.

Top: Chai Affair
Bottom: Amani Tea

Tea Samples (left to right): white tea, rooibos, chai, Korean tea

I also enjoyed sampling Momo Tea's different flavoured sencha green teas (left to right): sakura, ringo (apple), melon, and badu (grape).

More tea samples: turmeric chai and Tao Tea Leaf's ready to drink iced teas/lattes.

I had a nice chat with Andrea from Tea & Toasts...

...and Katie from Monarch Tea Co.

My haul from the Tea Fest

3 Momo Teas (the apple, melon, and grape blends).

Taniya Gupta's book of poetry and the Monarch Tea Co. custom blend, "She Believed In Herself", that was inspired by the author!
