First cold-brewed tea of the summer!

Did you know that June is National Iced Tea Month?

On the first day of summer, I enjoyed this tasty cold-brewed Raspberry Lemon Verbena herbal tea.

This cold-brewed Cactus Rose green tea was another refreshing summer beverage.

I'll definitely be drinking lots of cold-brewed teas to stay in cool this heat wave!

Summer Teas: Watermelon fruit infusions, matcha, and oolongs!

Watermelon teas are my favourite summer flavours. So I was delighted when tea companies started offering more watermelon blends over the last several years!

I can always rely on DavidsTea for some tasty watermelon fruit infusions.

Cold-brewed Witchy Watermelon (left), Watermelon Heat (center), and Watermelon Mint (right) kept me cool during the heat waves!

DavidsTea's Watermelon matcha (iced) was also great for the hot weather!

I also quenched my thirst with Dessert by Deb's Watermelon Lime Slush and Watermelon Jasmine Sorbet oolongs (but I kept forgetting to take photos of my cold-brewed watermelon oolongs).

A few months ago, I asked Deb if she could create a watermelon lavender blend. She said that she'd give it a try...and I was thrilled when she added the Watermelon Lavender Blush oolong to her summer collection! It's such a lovely balance of the watermelon and lavender!

August sipped away like a bottle of cold-brewed tea!

July wrap-up: new teas and tea empties

We're in the thick of summer and I'm still drinking hot teas!

New tea #1 (Murchie's): Victorian Garden is a delicious fruity black and green tea blend.

New tea #2 (Tealish): Fairy Dust is a strawberry kiwi roiboos that would also make a tasty iced tea.

New tea #3 (DavidsTea): Pink Papayadise fruit infusion was a refreshing cold brewed tea.

 July tea empties

What I will or have already restocked:
1) Lavender Peach Pound Cake green tea (Dessert by Deb)
2) Rated R black tea (T by Daniel)
3) Sleepy Lychee fruit infusion (DavidsTea)
4) Lavender Buttercream roiboos (DavidsTea)

April Tea Haul: DavidsTea

It's been over 4 months since my last DavidsTea purchase.

I caved and finally checked out my online cart when I saw this gorgeous purple mug. The butterflies change colour when you fill the mug with hot water (see photo below).

I took advantage of the Friends and Families sale (20% off regular-priced loose leaf tea) to try some new teas form the spring collection: Jelly Donut rooibos, Bahama Blue fruit infusion, and Horchata Chai mate.

I also purchased the Cherry Blossom matcha and used my rewards to get the pricey Matcha Matsu for free.

The Jelly Donut Rooibos was a delicious blend with strong strawberry notes. I enjoyed it both as a hot tea and iced latte!  Jelly Donut is now sold out online, so I'm happy that I got the chance to try it out!

The Horchata Chai mate was a lovely spiced tea. It would also make a great iced or cold-brewed latte.

I think that the Cherry Blossom matcha is one of my favourite DavidsTea matchas. I enjoyed it as a hot latte in this beautiful teacup that Lyn from Australia sent me in a teacup swap years ago.

I'm grateful to see the cherry blossoms in bloom this year!

Holiday Teas Hauls

I should not be left to my own devices.
They come with prices and vices.
I end up with tea hauls.

Holiday Tea Haul #1: Stash and Celestial Seasonings

I kept checking my local Bulk Barn until they finally had the Stash and Celestial Seasonings holiday teas available. I restocked on my faves!

Holiday Tea Haul #2: Monarch Tea Co.

I'm excited to try the new green tea and rooibos in the Monarch Tea Co.'s holiday tea collection.

Holiday Tea Haul #3: Murchie's Tea

After years of browsing their online store, I finally made my first purchase!

Admitting I have a tea problem is the first step...

Halloween Teas

Happy Halloween!

During spooky month, I enjoyed DavidsTea's new Halloween fruit infusion teas.

Trick or Treat is a "Carnival-inspired caramel corn lightly coated in butter" tea. I'm glad I tried it, but it's not a fave. I think I would have preferred a caramel corn flavour profile on a black tea base.

Witchy Watermelon had the cutest witch hat sprinkles and tasted like a Jolly Rancher watermelon candy.

It's hard to see in the photo, but the tea is purple! This would also be enjoyable cold brewed or iced.

October tea empties

What I've already restocked or will repurchase:
1) Dessert by Deb's Bobba Milk Tea
2) Dessert by Deb's Lychee Mango Mochi green tea
3) DavidsTea Banana Matcha

New teas I tried in July

Let's wrap up July with the new teas that I tried this month!

Green Teas

Top: Genuine Tea's Lavender Sencha was a pleasant green tea blend of berries and lavender.

Bottom: I finally tried the Genmaicha tea that my friend gave me when she visited the Tokyo Disney Resort in 2019 (!).

DavidsTea's fruity matchas were perfect for the summer! Next time, I'll have to try them as iced lattes.

Left: Banana

Right: Peach Unsweetened (top) and Blueberry (bottom)

More fruity blends from DavidsTea that are also great cold brewed.

Left: Happy Kombucha is a mango oolong

Right: Reishi Relax is a berry fruit infusion (top); Bumbleberry Burst is a berry pu-erh (bottom)

What have you been sipping this summer?
