Tea and Matcha Lemonades

I've been sipping the summer away with some delicious teas and matchas topped with lemonade.

Tea Lemonade #1: Earl Grey Black Tea

Tea Lemonade #2: Southern Lemon Black Tea (tastes like sweet tea!)

Matcha Lemonades (L-R):

1) Raspberry Matcha
2) Watermelon Matcha
3) Unsweetened Peach Matcha

A splash of lemonade softens the matcha's vegetal taste.

Do you drink tea or matcha lemonades?

A Platinum Jubilee Tea Time

Yesterday, I honoured Queen Elizabeth's 70th anniversary with a special tea time.

I enjoyed a cup of Earl Grey black tea in my Buckingham Platinum teacup by Noritake.

The British classic Earl Grey is reportedly one of the Queen's favourite teas. Taylors of Harrogate has earned a Royal Warrant "as an official supplier to the Prince of Wales."

Last year, my aunt gave me this Diamond Jubilee demitasse that commemorated the Queen's 60th anniversary.

Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning British monarch.

The case of the missing tea package

After 12+ months of online tea shopping, it finally happened: a package went missing!

The tracking said that the package was left at my front door, but it wasn't there (and I had also checked my neighbours' porches, just in case), so I reported the missing package to FedEx. It turned out that the package was delivered to the wrong residence! FedEx tried unsuccessfully to trace/retrieve the package, and eventually advised me to contact the Seller to either get a refund or replacement package.

When I informed Blighty's, a British shop in Orangeville, Ontario, what happened, they dispatched a replacement package immediately. Purolator delivered the package safely the following day!

These Yorkshire Teas specialty brews have been on my wish list for MONTHS so I was thrilled when I finally found a Canadian retailer that sold them online!

Each box comes with 40 tea bags. I love the packaging's super cute design!

Decarf Bedtime Brew with Vanilla and Nutmeg:

I thought this blend was just okay. I couldn't really taste the vanilla or nutmeg?

 Malty Biscuit Brew:

The biscuit scent was strong, but the malty flavour was more subtle. This tea was also good with milk.

 Toast & Jam:

This blend was my favourite among the three. It was a strong black tea with a delicious fruity flavour (strawberry jam?)!

Teas and chocolates

Hello, March!

February tea empties

Oldest: Dessert by Deb's Chocolate, Berries and Cream black tea (June 2019)

Newest: Teamancy's Love Potions (February 2021)

Last month, I ordered this charming Alice in Wonderland mug rug from the Quilting Princess.

The large mug rug has enough room for a mug and a treat!

At last week's office Zoom tea, we did tea and chocolate pairings. My yummy pairings were:

1) DavidsTea's Japanese Sencha green tea with Lindor Milk and White Chocolate Truffle

2) Taylors of Harrogate Earl Grey black tea with Lindor Extra Dark Chocolate Truffle

My co-workers also enjoyed Lindor truffles, as well as Cadbury, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Ferrerro Rocher with their teas (chai, orange pekoe, genmaicha, cinnamon herbal tea).

Early Tea-Themed Christmas Gifts

"Thou shalt not steal." But this commandment doesn't apply when you're playing Secret Santa (Yankee Swap) at work...

Of course, I had to "steal" this beautiful pair of tea cups from the co-worker who selected this gift.

But my co-worker bore no ill will towards me as my "theft" gave her the opportunity to pick another present that she actually wanted!

Last Friday, another work colleague surprised me with this gorgeous tea set ornament. She had been saving this ornament for 20 years (!) for someone special.

We had bonded over our love of tea and she gave me the tea ornament because she knew how much I would love it. I was so humbled and touch by this generous gesture. I will always treasure this tea ornament.

It's hard to believe that we're more than halfway through Advent now!

Wrapping up 2017

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

The teapot and teacup ornaments that I ordered from Avon arrived just time for Christmas!

The final tea social at the office.
We sipped Home for the Holidays black tea in my poinsettia teacups and saucers.
