I Know What You Did Last Summer

Last summer's White Linen Tea House visit was followed by some shopping at the Shawnee Country Barns Antique Co-op.

The Antiques Co-Op (barn on the bottom right) was "full of antiques and country charm".
I was so engrossed with all the tea pretties on display that I neglected to capture photos of the inside!

I exercised GREAT restraint and only purchased these 3 trio sets.

The pretty brown transferware design is perfect for a fall tea!

But what really sold me was the pattern name of this Johnson Bros Windsor Ware:
Margaret Rose!

Now I'm keeping an eye out for another Margaret Rose trio so that I'd have an even set of 4!

Do you own tea sets that are your namesake?

I'm joining the following parties this week:

  2. They were a good find Margie and I'll keep the pattern in mind when I'm antiquing.
Never seen Judith china but at least I have a daylily by my name.

  5. What pretty teacups. I've never seen anything with Lorrie on it, although my husband and I got a great kick out of signs seen in England and Wales last month - "Danger - Lorries" or "Watch out for lorries"!

  6. I don't own a lot of tea cups but love them. They are so pretty. Nancy

  7. Now you certainly did need to buy those namesake trios, Margie! What a pretty pattern they are, too. Of course, I seem to love all Johnson Bros patterns, and am especially loving brown transferware. No, I've never seen a pattern with Catherine (my baptismal name) or Kitty on it!

  8. Sounds like the perfect place to go! You did well with only bringing those home, and I certainly see why you did! Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

  9. What a perfect setting for an antiques store! How special you were able to find this pretty pattern in your namesake and trios nonetheless. Many of the Johnson Bros. patterns I've seen are usually one primary color. It's nice to see the pretty colorful flowers on your sets.
I've never seen a Nora set before.
    Enjoy your new trios!

  11. I have been staying away from the shops most of the summer so I'm not tempted. What a lovely find in those darling trios with your name on them. And I love anything made by Johnson Bros. The barn sounds like a delightful place to browse and shop. Thanks for sharing with us and have a lovely day, Margie.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  21. Margie, I just had to google Deborah and china to see if there was anything out there -- haha! Like most of the other ladies here, nothing with my name. Although I got to see what my name is in Chinese! haha Your trios are so very pretty. I love Johnson Brothers and transfer ware, and you are right about these being perfect for a fall tea. Blessings to you, Deborah

  22. I doubt I will ever see my name on the bottom of a china set, but it is in the Peter Pan book so I'm good. Lucky that you found your own name though :) What a pretty set too!
