Recently, I sampled an assortment of matcha-infused drinks and foods.
From Donut Monster: This delicious donut has a matcha-infused glaze.
From Foundy Ice Cream: Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream
(I am single-handedly keeping Foundry Ice Cream in business).
This was one of the best matcha ice cream that I've had!
I could have devoured a pint in one sitting, but I restrained myself.
From a friend: A tasty sample of Lipton's "Magnificent Matcha" green tea with ginger.
From Starbucks: I took advantage of Starbucks' promos of their new Teavana Tea Lattes (50% off from 3-6 pm, March 2-5) to try out their new Matcha Tea Latte described as, "A vegetal and smooth blend from Japan, China and Korea."
Do you drink matcha teas?
I'm joining the following parties this week:
I've not tried matcha teas ... looks like I'm missing out on a good thing! Next time I'm down in the valley I'm going to search for Foundry icecream. Is it sold only in certain stores?

I've not tried matcha tea. Hmmm, maybe I'll stArt with the ice cream .:-)
ReplyDeleteI had never heard about it until reading your post.Like Barbara,I'll start with the ice cream too(In a beautiful teacup like yours!).Hugs!
ReplyDeleteNot only have I not tried matcha tea, but I have never even HEARD of it! I do like some green and whites, but mainly give me a good strong black tea and I am a happy girl.
ReplyDeleteIt's so green, perfect for St. Patrick's Day coming up, huh?? xxoo
Hi Margie! How nice and thoughtful of you to single-handedly keep Foundry Ice Cream in business! Wish I could try some! I have seen Matcha tea, but have never tried any myself, as of yet. How was the Lipton Matcha Tea? I know some of them can be very expensive.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried matcha tea either although I have heard of it. The ice cream looks interesting especially in the teacup. The green really is perfect for St. Patrick's Day. The Island doesn't offer a lot of different teas here. At one time it was better but lately, it's hard to find something different.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so good. I've been hearing a lot about matcha tea recently but have yet to try it.

I love matcha ... hot, cold or in a Starbuck's Frapp! YUM. Now I want some ice cream. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteI am afraid I don't. I have had several types and versions, and I just don't like the taste...unless you add lots of sugar! Lol! So...better not, for me. Matcha donut? Hmmm.... Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea and have a lovely week!

Hi Margie,
ReplyDeleteI have never tried matcha teas. It looks yummy in that absolutely gorgeous mauve teacup. Beautiful! Blessings, Karen
I have not tried matcha teas, though daughter loves them. The ice cream sounds like a delicious way to try it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm another who has never heard of Matcha Tea. I'm a black tea junkie anyway.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite flavor. Yum-yummy
ReplyDeleteI drank real Macha tea in aJapan Tea Ceremony so I can’t rally comment on Teavana, except to say that anything I’ve bought from them is fabulous .. I don't know about Starbucks etc... The Ice cream sound good.... and all I do know is that I LOVE GREEN TEA... no matter what it’s called....Hugs
ReplyDeleteNever had Macha Tea. Souonds and looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteLooks so good Margie. You always try the neatest things. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteMargie, I haven't really acquired a taste for green tea yet, though I have a container of it I bought for a recipe. It's a great natural food coloring for those of us who avoid artificial coloring and other chemicals. Your ice cream in the contrasting teacup looks so pretty, I'll have to try some matcha in my next batch of homemade ice cream.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has a taste for Matcha. Unfortunately, I've never seen that ice cream, and from reading the comments, I didn't know it can be used to color food. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteYou nailed my problem with ice cream Margie - I want more and more! This is not good for one's size! Ha! Thanks for sharing your special tea ice cream!
