2020 is a leap year so I'm sharing a teacup that features an equestrian jumping over a fence (?).
This was passed on to me by someone who was downsizing. I had just started collecting teacups so I was more than happy to give this beauty a new home.
The teacup is part of the Royal Albert Traditional British Songs Series (circa 1950s). John Peel was a famous English huntsman.
What are you doing on Leap Day?
What a wonderful teacup! Today is Carnival here...I am praying for my son to be safe during this holiday in my violent country...Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique teacup! For leap day we are joining friends for dinner. I'm bringing the dessert - probably chocolate mousse, and you've just given me the idea to serve it in teacups! Have a great week, Margie.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your connection of the horse leaping and Leap Day, Margie! Your teacup is a pretty one, and gifted ones are special as we remember those who gave them to us.
ReplyDeleteI don’t have any exciting plans for the 29th.
I remember learning a song about John Peel in school, way back when, an old hunting song. Feb 29 - Just another day in the life of a retired person, but an extra one.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your teacup, Margie! I love equestrian so the teacup is very appealing to me. A very attractive teacup indeed!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Margie! I actually keep forgetting it's leap year haha! No big plans haha but nice to have that 'extra' day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful teacup and a perfect way to celebrate February 29th and Leap Year. Clever, Margie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cup, Margie, and such a fun way to like it to the day. I spent mine mostly doing housework, it had to be done :-(
