A Pre-Wedding Celebratory Tea Social

Since September is so busy at work, we weren't going to have a tea social. But when we found out that our co-worker's wedding will be at the end of the month, we hastily organized a pre-wedding celebratory tea social in her honour.

The guests were notified on Friday.
The tea social was held the following Monday.

I brought in  T by Daniel's "Love Note" black tea.
How cute are these pink hearts?

We sipped the delicious strawberry and peaches black tea in vintage bone china teacups.

The treats brought in by my co-workers.
Not pictured: sandwiches, crackers and dip.

We wish the bride-to-be a lifetime of love and happiness!

Black chintz tea sets

This week, I'm sharing the modern black chintz tea sets that are part of my fall decor.

This beautiful "Blooming Opulence" teapot, teacup and creamer and sugar were gifted to me by my brother a few years ago.

This lovely black chintz teapot and teacup by Gracie China was another gift from my family.

The black tea sets blend together beautifully.

Do you collect black teawares?

Lola Choco Bar and Sweet House

Over the weekend, I visited Lola Choco Bar and Sweet House, a new cafe located in downtown Burlington's quaint Village Square.

The cute patio tables

The beautiful blend of antique and modern decor captivated me. I wished that I could take those antique chairs home with me!

The "Tea Time" special consisted of 2 teas (Harney and Sons), 2 cheesecakes and 100 grams of chocolate. The delicious cheesecakes were so filling that we ran out of room for the blueberry covered chocolates.

I enjoyed a cup of white peach tea. I always appreciate when tea houses serve tea in bone china teacups.

If you're not a tea drinker, you can enjoy coffee or drinking chocolate.

I couldn't resist bringing home some chocolate truffles: chai latte (top) and matcha (bottom).

I had a delightful time at Lola Choco Bar and Sweet House thanks to the charming ambience, delicious food and exceptional service from the owner and staff.

Garden party tea in September

The calendar may say September, but I'm holding on to the summer season as long as possible.

This sample of Garden Party oolong tea came with my recent T by Daniel order.

The tea had a light floral flavour (orchid and rose).
Since I'm not a fan of floral teas, I prefer T by Daniel's other blends like their Polo with the Prince and When Harry Met Meghan black teas.

As the sweltering heat continues, I've also been drinking iced and hot versions of peaches ice cream fruit and herbal tea (by Koo Tea).

Tea time at my aunt's garden

This week, I'm sharing a teacup and teapot that I passed on to my aunt (who baked my awesome birthday cake), as part of my ongoing efforts to downsize my collection. My aunt kindly agreed to let me do a tea time photo shoot in her lovely garden.

The unmarked teapot is decorated with dainty yellow roses and has serious Royal Albert vibes. The teacup (made by Paragon) and saucer are mismatched.

It's easier to part with my tea pretties when I know that they're going to a good home!

Just Peachy

It's peach season and I've been enjoying some peachy teas to beat the heat!

Pure Leaf iced tea is brewed from real tea leaves.

The refreshing peach iced tea is perfect for a hot summer day.

Fiasco's White Peach Iced Tea sorbetto was an unexpected find at a local cheese shop.

This delicious icy treat is also keeping me cool in the heat wave.

What's your favourite peach treat?

Outdoor Summer Tea Social

For the first time ever, our office tea social was held outside! The days leading up to the tea social were hot and rainy. I was fretting over the 40% chance of a thundershower...

...but we were blessed with blue skies, cooler temperatures and a nice breeze. We couldn't have asked for better weather! We had some Canada geese for company. Can you spot them?

I cheated and brought in bottled iced tea for our "bring your own cup" tea. I couldn't resist bringing in these mason jar mugs. We had all types of teas covered:
-Lemon black tea by Pure Leaf
-Green tea with ginseng and honey by Arizona Tea
-Blackberry herbal tea from my co-worker (not pictured)
-
We had a well-balanced meal of: cheese and crackers, samosas, green salad and potato salad (not pictured).

For dessert, we had hazelnut wafer cookies and peaches.

It was one of the best tea socials at work!
