Pumpkins in September

How do I love pumpkins in the fall? Let me count the ways.

1. I adore my new DavidsTea Nordic mug with the pretty purple pumpkins!

2. I'm pumped about these pumpkin pillows which I got from Dollarama for only $4 each!

3. I'm a sucker for funky socks and couldn't resist these cute pumpkin pie and latte socks from Dollar Tree.

4. I had my first Starbucks pumpkin spice creme frappuccino in 2 years! YUM!

5. I have jumped on the red/blue truck wagon. Love the teal pumpkins on this kitchen towel!

6. My first fall weekend tea time: Little Debbie's Pumpkin Delights cookies with DavidsTea's White Pumpkin white tea.

Autumn Teas: Maple, Salted Caramel, and Toffee

As we transition into the cozy fall season, I've been filling my cups with delicious maple, caramel, or toffee teas!

 Maple Teas

Left: Monarch Tea Co.'s Maple Cream black tea.

Right: A maple-flavoured teabag gifted by a friend.

Maple Teas by Geek+Tea

Left: Snow Maple is a lightly flavoured white tea.

Right: The Dark Side is a smokey maple blend.

Left: DavidsTea's Caramel Shortbread fruit infusion.

Right: DavidsTea's Maple Chai black tea

Salted Caramel

 Left: DavidsTea's Salted Caramel Oolong

Right: Dessert by Deb's Salted Caramel Pancakes black tea

Both of these blends would also make tasty lattes!

Left: DavidsTea's Brown Sugar Bourbon black /pu-erh tea (I've never tasted bourbon so I can't tell if this tea is  a good replication, but I did enjoy it!)

Right: DavidsTea's English Toffee pu-erh

I'm not a big fan of pu-erh, but the brown sugar and toffee flavours of these blends appealed to my sweet tooth!

Garage sale finds: Colclough and Queen Anne teacups

Do I need more teacups? No.

But that didn't stop me from rescuing two beauties at a garage sale last month!

There was about a dozen teacups on sale for only $2 each, but I was drawn to this Colclough's pretty purple design. I just couldn't leave it behind!

I was proud of myself for exercising some restraint and bringing only one teacup home...

...but I couldn't stop thinking about this elegant Queen Anne teacup.
So I went back and got it!

A gourd life

As soon as the calendar flipped to September, I was all about the cute pumpkins and autumn decor!

My stack of vintage Johnson Brothers brown transferware teacups. My brown betty teapot is covered by a handmade owl tea cozy (a gift from a co-worker).

I'm really into the plaid and velvet pumpkins this year.

My small glass teapot filled with miniature white velvet pumpkins.

My pumpkin teapot (Kaldun & Bogle) paired beautifully with my new pumpkin mug (Chapters Indigo has the cutest seasonal mugs!).

I rescued this "Keep Calm and Drink Tea" two-cup teapot from my office.

Autumn gold: a vintage yellow tea set and teacup

My orange lusterwares

Other autumn staples: apple cider teas...

....and chais galore!

(The autumn teas will get their own posts over the next few months.)

Have you started decorating for autumn?

My first thrift finds in 16 months!

Last month, I stepped foot inside a thrift store for the first time since March 2020.

I made a beeline for the housewares and my eagle eyes immediately spotted this adorable red and white polka dot teapot by London Pottery. It was brand new with tags. I love polka dots so I did not hesitate to bring this teapot home with me!

A few years ago, my boss gave me a flamingo DavidsTea ceramic tumbler for Christmas. It broke after I accidentally dropped it. So I was delighted to find the exact same tumbler in mint condition!

These decorative metal teacup planters from Giant Tiger, a Canadian discount store, have been on my wish list since I first saw them on a Youtube vlogger's video in April. I was so happy when I found all 3 colours for over 40% off!

I don't need any more teapots, mugs, or teacup planters, but it was nice to go thrifting and shopping for frivolous items again!
